WEST YORK BAND UPDATE
It's that time again for West York Band updates and we have plenty to go
around! Please take the time to read ALL of them.
* First and foremost....don't forget to pick up your sandwiches on
Thursday, March 31 at the middle school cafeteria from 3pm to 6pm.
Call Sue Brindle with questions: 764-6758.
* The next band booster meeting will be Monday, May 2 at 7:00pm in
the high school band room. At this meeting we will hold our Booster
Club Election of Officers. To date we are still looking for a
co-president, vice-president, and treasurer. Without these positions
filled the booster club may cease to exist the way it has in the past.
These positions are not that demanding of your time and there are lots
of folks here to support and help you along the way. If you are
interested or have questions about any of these positions please
contact Beth Brickner at bulldogsband@aol.com.
* Another area of concern is the abundance of students who have
outstanding obligations to the booster club organization. These range
from payments for band camp, fund raisers, insufficient funds for
checks written to our organization, etc. Non-payment may result with
an appointment with Ms. May.
* The all school musical is this weekend, April 1, 2 and 3. Come
out and see our talented students put on a moving rendition of
"Brigadoon" Friday and Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 2:30pm. Tickets
can be purchased at the door. Costs are Adults: $9.00 Sr. Citizens
and Students: $7.00.
* Jazz Night is April 15 at 8:00pm in the high school cafeteria.
Come enjoy a night out with the jazz ensemble and great food! See any
jazz ensemble member for tickets or contact Mr. Eyster. Adults:
$6.00 Students: $3.00 Jazz Ensemble Parents: Your help is
needed to make this night a success for our students. We are still
awaiting replies from numerous parents about their food selection for
that night. We need this information ASAP so we can plan accordingly.
Contact Cheryl Zearfoss at 792-7795.
* Our band program/yearbook is underway and we need your ads and
pictures to share by April 9. Pictures will be returned and will be
used in the program and our annual DVD production. Submit pictures to
Rachel Carter at ertztcarter@comcast.net. Questions about the ads
contact Cheryl Zearfoss at 792-7795.
* The band banquet is set for May 18. Keep your eyes open for
details coming your way in the next few weeks!
Lots to do even as the year comes to an end!

BULLDOG BAND NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS
WOW! Lots of things happening this week at the Dog Pound...
The Bulldogs play at home this week and it is Homecoming! Homecoming festivities begin on the field at 6:30pm with the band performing their FANTASTIC field show after the game, so stick around to cheer on our kids!!
Sunday is the Manchester Halloween Parade and note the time change: Bus will depart at 1:30pm.
Some notes about the Kennard-Dale game. This game is now on a Friday night, October 22nd. We hope to have directions to the field next week, so check back. We do know that there will be a regular band practice at 3:30pm and the bus will pull out at 5:!5pm.
It is time to think sunshine and coffee aka The Citrus Sale!!! The paperwork will be appearing soon and the sale runs thru November 12, so start making your list now as to whom you are going to solicit!
See you at Friday's on Sunday, October 24th Share the attached flier with family, friends and strangers. The booster club earns 20% on the food purchase so eat up!
This Tuesday, October 19 at 7:00pm in the West York Area Middle School cafeteria, the school board will be meeting to discuss the upcoming Tremont Vending contract. This is our supplier of soft drinks and water for concession sales. We encourage you to attend to make the school board aware of our dilemma in having parents donate water vs purchasing water from Tremont, The proposed contract would force us to purchase bottled water exclusively from Tremont at a cost of approximately $7.00 per case. At 10 football games, three parades and other functions this cost really adds up. Our goal is to make them aware that if we are supplying water for consumption only, not the sale of, that we should be able to have the water donated.
The KidStuff Book sales are going well. Remember this book makes a great gift for Christmas or birthdays. Sales end November 5. Contact Penny Wales at 792-5296 or at dpwales@comcast.net for information. Sale ends November 5.
The High School DVD set is available now. This covers marching band, concert band and jazz band. We have all years available. Order forms are available from Mr. Eyster or send you request to dpwales@comcast.net. Cost is $15.00 and makes a great gift!
